I hope all these kids know they can and should change the world. I have faith in them. Few things are as positively moving as watching a community surround and celebrate young people as they launch. My support and hopes are with the class of 2021. #yellowknife

Jeeeeez. Thought it was bad when the water went up to his shins, but then he keeps walking... And I can confirm that the minister is not short.

The Canadian military and rangers have been deployed to support the largest flood mitigation effort in the Yukon's history. Yesterday, I updated Public Safety Minister Bill Blair on the crisis. Today, our request for military support was approved.

With water levels continuing to rise in Yukon, responders are working hard to protect access roads and residences. More than 200,000 sandbags and 1,000 super bags have now been deployed to the Southern Lakes area, including Lake Laberge.

Filled 100 sandbags at the South M'clintock station last night! Great setup. Thanks to the kind stranger who left water, mandarins and bug spray on site. #Yukon Protective Services says 200,000+ sandbags and 1,000 "super bags" have been stacked around the Southern Lakes area

Big volunteer effort tonight at South M’Clintock Road station. Even this big pile of sandbags is soon gone, as residents arrive with trailers and trucks. #Yukon

Sandbagging science fair: People have built devices to try and help the process. Personally I prefer using a hard plastic tube. It keeps the bag rigid and easy to fill. Some cement blocks keep it stable. #Yukon

Took a ride in a 1942 biplane over #Whitehorse #Yukon to film a video for Yukon Transportation Museum. Open cockpit and no computers! I asked pilot Kelly Collins what it’s like flying this classic piece of #aviationhistory made of “fabric, wood and steel…” Watch here: fb.watch/798-ClXP81/
