Have you ever walked past a device on the wall and wondered: what is this thing? Is it collecting data about me? A team of Carnegie Mellon University CyLab researchers have just launched a system that enables that kind of #IoT transparency. #privacy cylab.cmu.edu/news/2020/02/1…

What an amazing rainbow over #Pittsburgh this evening. Took a 16 image panorama to capture it in its entirety from the West End Bridge, and I gotta say, it was one of the brightest rainbows I've ever seen. The way it towered over the city & clouds makes this an all time favorite.

“Go back to your country” I have heard this being shouted at my Asian community my entire life. Until someone actually went back to their country and won a gold medal 🥇 and then the western media decides to go crazy. Eileen Gu, I support you. Congratulations champ. #Olympics

Prof. Solove's take on the American Data Privacy and Protection Act with concerns on the preemption. ADPPA is not enough in its current version: It should be the floor for data privacy protection, not the ceiling. #ADPPA teachprivacy.com/further-though…

Just wrote about Chinese accounts spamming city names in a suspected attempt to keep citizens from learning about the historic protests. An outgunned Twitter staff fought back. washingtonpost.com/technology/202…

Too little too late for the arguably most high-profile data breach in the US. When the system fails to protect our security and privacy, please do these basics: freeze credit reports, use password manager and 2FA/MFA, and encrypt your data/devices.
