A small group of dedicated Thames21 citizen scientists, who sample the invertebrate life on the Dollis Brook each month, identified two cased caddisfly larvae yesterday morning! Cased caddisfly are not frequently seen in urban rivers, as they are sensitive to pollution.

The #wealdstonebrook WQ working group met this week to plan and review progress on restoring the health of this heavily polluted river through better monitoring and improving infrastructure and habitat. Lots to do but good to see everyone working together for a better future.

We’re looking into this bright green pollution near Cool Oak Lane at Brent Reservoir SSSI, alongside Thames Water and the Environment Agency partners. Suspicion is that it’s some sort of dye. If you have any information about this incident please report it gov.uk/report-an-envi…

Grove Farm was looking glorious in the sunshine today. Hoping to expand on the great wetland and stream habitat work that Friends of Grove Farm have been doing and study the hydrology of the site.
