President clearly implies that debt restructuring is going to happen soon and the gov is working (and continue to work) with IMF on that. He also indirectly acknowledged that floating the rupee was necessary to bring more remittances, increase exports and cut imports

Seems SL should do much more to be in IMF’s good books:tighten monetary policy, increase Govt revenue, free ExRate, restore debt sustainability & make CBSL independent; everything will come to zero if Gotabaya Rajapaksa mishandles popular protest campaign;calls for sanity in actions

#SriLanka hiked last year’s revenue target of Rs 940bn to Rs 1.632trn. Achieving it's far from certain owing to poor initiatives from the IRD, a lackadaisical attitude towards defaulters and a deficient online system that's already cost taxpayers more than Rs. 10 billion.
