Scholar’s League Championship Final Result: Today in Kingston, ON, York Lions mens rugby York Lions put up a valiant effort, but came up short against Queen's Gaels 3’s, by a final score of 22-11. This completes what has been a strong season, full of many on-field gains!!
Next up for York Lions mens rugby York Lions will be a transition to the winter season, which includes team indoor fitness training sessions, indoor 7’s training sessions at the York University Varsity Stadium dome, and the winter indoor 7’s tournament season!!
While York University’s men’s rugby club has ties to many clubs across Rugby Ontario, its historical connection with the Vaughan Yeomen RFC club cannot be understated. As is outlined in the article, the Yeomen club was started from the ground up by our members, and played at York!!

We’re back! For the first time since the fall of 2003, York Lions Men’s Rugby will participate in Ontario University Athletics league play!! Twenty years is a long time. We are ready for this!!
Match Day: For the first time since 2003, York Lions Men’s Rugby returns to Ontario University Athletics league play today when they travel to Hamilton to play McMaster Marauders in this historic league-opener, at 1pm. Congrats to those who have worked so hard to make this possible, and good luck!!
