#breastfriendsyork I’m Chris and I'm a trustee for BFY. I was diagnosed in 2010 and had a recurrence in 2018 Being a part of Breast Friends is like being part of a new family. My advice to anyone newly diagnosed or in treatment is Don't put a brave face on it , ask for help!

I’m Sam. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018. I am a trustee and now secretary of BFY. My favourite thing about the group is getting to meet other members socially. My message to newly diagnosed patients would be don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help.

#5yyourway is a support group with a difference. On the last Saturday of every month (Saturday 28th October) we meet at #HeslingtonParkrun at the sports village. meet at the blue 5kyw flag at 8.45. walk, run, cheer or volunteer then reward with a coffee or breakfast afterwards.

I’m Tracie, I was diagnosed in 2016 at the age of 34. My first experience of BFY was when a member I had never met before sat with me through my first chemo . My advice for anyone just been diagnosed is to build a village around you, and they will always be there.
