The UAW has won in a landslide at the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga: 2,628 to 985. This is the first plant-wide union at a foreign-owned automaker in the South, after years of failed attempts. media.vw.com/en-us/releases…

For decades, corporations set up shop in non-union states to avoid paying fair wages. Today, a new era begins.

Congratulations to workers at VW in Tennessee — you just won the South's first successful UAW election since the 1940s.

This is a win for workers everywhere.

It's important to give the VW workers & Shawn Fain HUGE CREDIT for the UAW's HISTORIC LANDSLIDE WIN in Tennessee

It's the FIRST TIME a union has unionized a foreign-owned auto plant in the South

It's a breakthrough & will no doubt inspire non-union auto workers across the South

Whenever I've mentioned rising number of managers, people's minds immediately think 'government', but some of the largest increases in management share over the past 3 years have been in private sector goods-producing industries.

Opinion: for undergrad and to an extent master’s programs, it doesn’t matter which university you attend in Canada. Provided it is a public university, employers don’t care too much- programs are very similar. To me, whatever is affordable and local is best choice.

In a historic victory, an overwhelming majority of Volkswagen workers in Chattanooga, Tennessee, have voted to join the UAW.

Here's to hoping that today becomes historic for the labor movement - the UAW might add a Volkswagen plant in TN to its family. This will be the first plant to unionize through an election in the South since the 1940s, a region that has been historically hard to organize

The union vote at the VW plant will mean more than whether the 4,300 hourly workers in Chattanooga are members of the UAW or not. It could be the start of a revolution in the US auto industry, which has not seen a new automaker unionize in nearly 50 years. cnn.com/2024/04/19/bus…

Big case called Uber Portier Canada v. Sharma resuming at OLRB today.

Case will decide if Uber couriers are 'employees' under Ontario Employment Standards Act.

My summary of decision finding Uber couriers ARE employees from Law of Work (3rd). Uber challenging this ruling.

With the budget behind us, we can return to the pressing economic issue of our day: why have the number of ppl working in management jumped +50% in just 3 years? Why the 'bossification' of the Canadian economy?

I looked at the data a dozen ways, here's what I found: 🧵

Jnr Pope: Movie producers pay assistants N10,000 for 15 days – Filmmaker Ernest Obi.

Even if it’s just seven days, the amount is meagre, and they will be lifting generators and carrying cables.

“When it rains, the PAs will be outside while the producers will be inside the room.

Today could be a historic day for labor, with VW workers in Tennessee expected to vote in favor of unionizing, making it the 1st foreign-owned auto plant in the South to unionize—“This would be the biggest breakthru in private-sector organizing in decades'

Bill Clinton often says the American people don’t always need you to succeed, but they want to catch you trying. Joe Biden needs to be caught trying to solve the immigration crisis.

Neto As of 2022, the entire continent only contributed to 8.9% of doctors in the UK. Yes, UK will feel it but I don’t think it can get to the point of collapse.
