Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) is a time to celebrate the colorful cultures, rich histories, and diversity of the American Latino community. This month we will spotlight staff speaking about their heritage and a community event on Oct 15 at East Valley Family YMCA.

We are honored to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) with a spotlight on Ana Antonio, the Executive Director of our East Valley Family YMCA. We are grateful for the energy and commitment that Ana brings to the Y.

Hispanic Heritage Month staff spotlight: Nayely Tamayo is a Program Director at our Gilroy after school site. We are thankful for leaders like Nayely who provide our community's youth with wonderful role models, homework assistance and a safe space to learn and grow after school.

Hispanic Heritage Month staff spotlight: Patricia Carbajal. Patricia is the Aquatics Director at our East Valley Family YMCA. She brings leadership and passion for swim safety to our pool. We're thankful for Patricia, and all of our incredible lifeguards and swim instructors!

Our next staff spotlight for Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 - Oct. 15) is Denise Panuco. You can find Denise at the front desk of our East Valley Family YMCA where she helps make all of our members and guest feel at home.

Hispanic Heritage Month Spotlight: We love our YMCA Project Cornerstone Los Dichos volunteers who honor and acknowledge the language, traditions and culture of the Latino community through sharing children's literature in our local classrooms.

Thanks to the Youth Science Institute (YSI), students at the YMCA After School program at Vinci Park Elementary were able to participate in hands-on environmental education. They loved learning about the environment and being with the different animals YSI brought along!

Thank you to the 57 amazing participants on our Yosemite trip this past Saturday, June 17. We offered two different hikes with beautiful sunny skies. Seeing the heavily flowing waterfalls and Half Dome and El Capitan up close were absolute highlights.
