Summer vibes! 26 of our North Georgia YMCA Leaders gathered for dinner, recognition and fellowship tonight. We are grateful for all they do to propel the Y mission forward each day across Catoosa and Walker counties!

This group crushed their day camp reading goal this summer! The goal was 1000 hours and they reached 1507. Great job campers and staff! Special thanks goes to Ms. Morgan for setting up an awesome environment for summer reading success! #YMCA #Wow

Learning to swim is life-changing. We held 16 Safety Around Water lessons as a part of day camp this summer and we had 12 who learned to swim! Special thanks goes to Mr. Noah and camp staff for helping teach the lessons and the awesome Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. lifeguards! #thankyou #ymca

Our Summer Feeding team accomplishes a special mission each day-to feed kids in the community who might not have food to eat while school is out. The team prepared and delivered more than 12,800 meals across 2 counties over the last 9 wks. Thanks Ms. Melanie for your leadership!

Backpack Blessings Year 11 kicked off with two awesome volunteer groups - North Georgia EMC crew members and the Walker Co Schools Livestock Showing Team. We had a 6,900 lb food delivery and packed 1364 meals. We’re off to a great start! #YMCA

We need just 450 toothbrushes to reach our fall semester goal for Backpack Blessings. You can help by donating at one of the 3 locations on the flyer. We will send them home in the September 24th meal pack for students in need.

New for 2024-25: We are excited to serve Battlefield Elementary School students and families in YMCA After School! Dr. McCary and the BES team worked with us all summer to make sure we were ready to launch on August 8. Let’s Grow! #YMCA

Last night was our final meal pack of 2024! We recognized Damon Raines for raising awareness & funds through Run for a Blessing. Volunteers help the #ymca mission succeed in so many ways. Congrats - 506.7 miles of running and over $5,900 raised to support Walker Co. students!

We had a great time tonight at our 21st CCLC parent session and take home libraries event! Walker County YMCA SOARING parents discussed tools for school success and students were able to shop for new books free of charge. Let’s do it again next week in Catoosa! See you there…
