Stephen Stapczynski I think a realistic assessment is that Japan will, on current settings, be burning roughly the same amount of coal in 2035 as it is burning in 2024, absent a major change in policies.
Stephen Stapczynski One other striking thing: the project pipeline for solar in Japan has basically ground to a halt. The current power plan assumes that about 10x more solar and hydro is connected by 2030 than has ever been announced.
