#HouPublicWorks urges residents NOT to drip their faucets during this week's freezing weather. Our water system is different than others. Dripping faucets could lead to a dangerous drop in water pressure. Instead, open doors under sinks to keep pipes warm #houwx #Freeze #HouWater

I used to get filet mignon on sale at Sprouts when I had EBT bc I obviously didn’t have the option to go to a restaurant and have a dining out experience with that type of meal. It was $6. Y’all just hate the idea of ppl w/ lower incomes having anything considered “luxury”.

@fileunderjeff I sent my comment to the TCEQ just before the end of the year. I’ll continue holding concrete batch plants accountable until there is a change in legislation that accounts for air quality & health impact on residents & presents a viable solution. #houston

This is something that really astonished me when I lived in the northeast -- places the sizes of neighborhoods in Texas are their own municipalities in places like Massachusetts and Connecticut. (This also has tax implications.)

NEW: We just passed a Harris County Climate Action Plan that will reduce emissions from county operations by 40% by 2030. We’re won't stop there. Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we face as a people and a planet.

Happy MLK Day. Today we reflect on Dr. King's legacy and the history of racial discrimination that impacts Black people and people of color today. As YIMBYs, it's critical for us to continue to fight for abundant and inclusive housing that leads to a more equitable world.
