For #MothersDay, a favorite story about honoring mothers by including their names on the matseyve (headstone). #Yiddish author B. Demblin insisted on this, and his daughter Miriam Gross made sure to carry out his wishes, despite some protest from the Jewish establishment.

Our field fellow, Agnieszka Ilwicka-Karuna, recently recorded a three-hour #oralhistory #interview with Mira Żelechower-Aleksiun. Mira is renowned artist and child survivor of the Holocaust, born in 1941 in Russia, and lived her life since WWII in #Wrocław, Poland. #Jewishart
