PostgreSQL: releases a major version every year. MySQL: jumps from 5.7 to 8.0 for no reason. MariaDB: jumps from 5.5 to 10.0 to show it's better than MySQL. ClickHouse: ties version number to a year. SQLite: stays at 3.x since 1847.

Early in my career I broke Facebook Chat (pre Messenger) for all IE users. Couldn't sleep all night afterwards. However, one of the most interesting issues I caused was when I removed about 300,000 duplicated files in Facebook's monorepo and pointed everything to the remaining

13 years ago, someone exploited a bug to create 184,467,440,737 BTC The blockchain was forked by Satoshi within 5 hours and the transaction (along with all of the other ones in between the fork) were thrown out. They never found the guy that did the hack!

Duolingo I confirm that the new energy point system implemented by Duolingo is a scam. It is an unfair system that penalizes you even if you don't make any mistakes. I think it is designed to discourage non-paying players. After more than 2,000 consecutive days, I am considering giving up
