Great views of Yellow-browed Warbler in north Dorset (undisclosed location) this afternoon. Also 2 Shoveler, 5 Teal, 4 Canada Geese and Common Gull at Key Hill flood.

A day for the history books in the Northeast today. It's not often that White-billed Diver and Grey-headed Lapwing are the sideshows, but the adult Ross's Gull at South Shields down to a few metres is utterly incomparable. 2025 off to a roaring start.

Funny how your day can change in an instant. Did a bit of seawatching at Pendine, Carmarthenshire but too cold. Got back to the car and a Desert Wheatear pops out from underneath it!

Black Scoter off Goswick at lunchtime. Despite no sightings in area since October 2023, I'm assuming it's the returning bird. Longevity of scoters seems to be about 15-20 years and bird must be at least 16 years old.

Missed the Booted Eagle by 5 minutes this morning. We eventually decided to have a drive around and immediately stumbled into the bird at Whitecross - result!

Already a great trip home with good Booted Eagle views, but delighted to also pick up this Pacific Diver at Boat Cove this afternoon. The famous Mounts Bay adult last seen ~4 years ago 🤔. Pics by raoul Humphreys
