Year 1 have planted sunflowers! Let's see how tall they are by the time we get to the Summer holidays! We will be measuring their growth every week to observe how they change over time. Fossdene Primary School

In our Jigsaw Education Group lessons this week, we learnt about different types of greetings that use physical contact. We talked about how greetings may differ depending on how well you know the person and how we can speak up if we are uncomfortable. Fossdene Primary School
In our White Rose Education maths lessons this week, Year 1 have been sharing equally and then applying that to working out fractions of amounts. We love our maths lessons! Fossdene Primary School
Our White Rose Education Science lessons have involved us learning about evergreen and deciduous trees. We looked at some examples of leaves and then decided which type of tree they belonged to. Next week we hope to walk to the local park to spot them on the trees! Fossdene Primary School
We had a great time on Wednesday doing our brain dance and getting our 'wiggles' out before starting our maths lesson. It was great fun! Fossdene Primary School
In our Jigsaw Education Group lesson, we learnt how we can appreciate people who are special to us. We spoke about friends, family and classmates. We each had a heart to decorate with a mystery name and then we revealed them at the end. It was lovely! Fossdene Primary School

Year 1 braved the heat this morning and had a wonderful time at Sports Day. They were wonderful team players and there was a lovely atmosphere of support for each other. What a wonderful team we are in Year 1! Fossdene Primary School
For Healthy Schools Week, Year 1 enjoyed taking part in a fitness circuit. We learnt that exercise is an important part of keeping healthy Fossdene Primary School
Year 1 are learning how to cut and juice as part of our DT unit. Tomorrow we will be tasting and selecting fruit to make our smoothies! Kapow Primary Fossdene Primary School
