How a work is marketed is entirely up to the author. Previews released without the author’s consent are nothing but theft. Discovering an author’s work through illegal webtoons is not something that brings them joy — it’s something deeply repulsive to them.

Buying merchandise doesn't justify reading pirated webtoons. When someone who reads illegally buys merchandise, it can actually be an insult to the author. What authors want are fans who respect their rights. A thief’s love is nothing but offensive.

웹툰 굿즈는 창작자의 '2차 저작 사업권'이 있어야 만들 수 있다. 누구나 마음대로 쓰면 그 가치는 없어진다. 이 웹툰의 경우 그 권리는 수천만 원의 가치가 있을 것이다. 그런데 왜 작가가 권리를 지키면 비난받아야 할까? 심지어 작가가 비상업적 굿즈 제작을 허용하기까지 했는데.

Honestly, it’s really funny how most illegal readers just talk big. There are so many reasons to call out the group of illegal readers. I’ll list them below – this includes ridiculous excuses and absurd, unbelievable justifications:
