1. The Second Mountain by David Brooks Book of the year. The best compliment I can give it is that I spent eight months going through it slowly.

2. The Preaching Life by Barbara Brown Taylor Iconic wisdom from an iconic preacher. Made me fall in love with preaching all over again. 3. This Ragged Grace by Octavia Bright Brilliant memoir with stunning ideas throughout. Tender and honest.

4. How High We Go in the Dark by Sequoia Nagamatsu Trippy apocalyptic sci-fi, if you're into that kind of thing. 5. The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese Some of the most beautiful, moving fiction I've read in a long time. Thanks @tylercstaton.

6. The Genesis of Gender by Abigail Favale A provocative, fascinating read. Helped me reframe a few key ideas. 7. Unreasonable Hospitality by Will Guidara Absolutely brilliant. Inspiring and practical and fascinating.

8. Babel by R. F. Kuang Provocative, trippy, vocabulary-dense fiction on Oxford, finding home, and the words that make our world. 9. How to Stay Married: The Most Insane Love Story Ever Told by Harrison Scott Key Genuinely an insane love story. Comedic, honest, raw, brutal.

10. The Reckless Way of Love: Notes on Following Jesus by Dorothy Day "It is a terrible thought – “we love God as much as the one we love the least.'" Happy reading - please comment your recent must-reads!
