The insurrection in the Capitol is an assault on democracy, peaceful transition of power, and national security. This attempted coup is a result of our country’s commitment to white supremacy, which the Trump administration emboldened.

The drastic difference in law enforcement’s response to BLM protestors and a Trump-backed mob is shameful and hypocritical. BLM protestors were tear gassed and met with violence. Today, law enforcement showed restraint as rioters stormed the Capitol and committed sedition.
