the amount of fatphobia in the theatre industry is disgusting. either plus-sized performers are confined to a tiny number of roles which revolve almost entirely around their size (and, more often than not, are rooted in fat jokes) +

or, on the rare occasions where they're actually cast in roles in which weight is irrelevant (but are traditionally given to 'skinny' people), they're subjected to unsolicited, disparaging comments about their size in reviews from the national press. they can't win
