As part of the trip, the children took part in a workshop about Henry VIII’s court and the hierarchy of it. Different children took on the roles of commoners, the gentry, nobility as well as King Henry himself, and they all learnt how to bow to Henry VIII and other nobility.

The children finished their day exploring different parts of Henry VIII’s apartments, including his council chamber where he would meet daily to discuss business matters.

5GH loved being part of Manor Multi Academy Trust’s Ed Tech project and joined in with a live Maths lesson from Manor Primary School. They were able to see her on screen modelling methods as well as listening to other pupils. They could even share their answers via a mircophone #EdTech

Yesterday, Year 5 had a visit from ThinkTank Birmingham with their mobile planetarium. They were able to explore our solar system in detail. We even zoomed into Saturn’s rings to see how it is made of chunks of ice and rock #planetarium #solarsystem #science

Year 5 enjoyed taking part in the Barclays Roadshow. During one of the morning sessions, they learnt about what budgeting is, what a receipt is and how to look out for extra changes that may be added on without you realising #Barclays #BarclaysRoadshow #budgeting

They also had a coding session using a software which is similar to Scratch (from our Computing units), so Barclays were impressed by the children’s knowledge of coding and the different shapes they managed to draw online #Barclays #BarclaysRoadshow #coding
