We loved dressing up for World Book Day!

3D had a wonderful morning visiting Kinver library and can’t wait to read the book they have borrowed.

Today we worked in collaboration with Year 6 to investigate how yeast is affected by temperature.

Year 3 loved their visit to Kinver library yesterday. They chose a book to take home and did some research in the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Thank you to the volunteers at the library for sharing their knowledge and to the parent helpers who came with us.

Today, we have researched volcanoes using Digimaps.

We have used our skimming, scanning and text marking skills to help us to learn about Islam.

Our Science lesson today enabled us to investigate the permeability of different soils. We worked in groups to decide which compost was the most permeable.

Year 3 have been learning about The Qur’an today. We found out lots of information and had the chance to look at one with our clean hands.

Super learning today in Year 3 with our children devising fabulous interview questions to find out about Muslim life. They then answered their friends questions during their interview drama session.

Year 3 have enjoyed making mini sculptures this week. The challenge was to construct them without using any glue or tape, but ensuring they could withstand a breeze.

Today, we investigated how water is transported through plants. We can’t wait to see what happens.

We have worn green to raise awareness of mental health and used meditation to help us to relax today.

Year 3 had a wonderful visit to Birmingham yesterday to the stunning Singers Hill Synagogue and Children’s Library. We saw so much to support out learning in RE and geography. Thank you to the guides and staff who helped us as well as our helpful parent volunteers. BHC - Singers Hill

On Wednesday, year 3 were enjoyed meetinglocal author, A. G. Smith, who told us how he started writing as a child and how his career has evolved. A number of children were so inspired that they have begun their own stories at home. Who knows where this will take them?

Today, Year 3 have been thinking about everything they would like to tell our Year 2 children at Foley all about life in our wonderful school, before they join us in September.

Year 3 demonstrated amazing resilience today when we were learning how to do running stitch and cross stitch. We can’t wait to design and make our purses next week!

We loved talking about different emotions and how they make us feel with Mrs Foster.

We had a wonderful day today with Children’s Poet, Ian Bland. His infectious energy and enthusiasm engaged and entertained the children from the moment he arrived. He performed hilarious poems, and the children were inspired to write and perform poems under his guidance.
