This week in Maths, we have been shape detectives and have been exploring the properties of 2D shapes. Today we used our right angle tools to find right angles on 2D shapes.

Over the last few weeks, Year 2 have been working on a top secret DT project that we can now reveal ... We have been designing and making bookmarks for Mother's Day using our sewing skills. Here are a few examples of our wonderful work.

This week year 2 have been learning about Reconciliation. We role played the act of contrition.

Year 2 have been learning about forgiveness and reconciliation in RE lessons. We looked at some art work of reconciliation and peace building. We thought about what it means to us and made our own sculptures to represent this.

Year 2 have had a wonderful morning doing the Easter bonnet parade, Easter Stay and Pray and Easter egg hunt.

Year 2 have been catching people by surprise and doing the 'Palm Oil Conga' flash mob around school to raise awareness of sustainable palm oil. 🎶'Be sustainable, read the label and do the palm oil conga' 🎶

Year 2 have been out in the community of Blackbrook doing a litter pick as part of our CAFOD Schools Live Simply award.

Year 2 have been making moving vehicles in DT. This week we have been making the wheels and axles for our vehicles. We had to carefully saw the axles to the correct size.

2RD have been trying out and evaluating their moving vehicles that they made in DT.

Year 2 had a wonderful trip to The World of Glass yesterday. We learnt lots about the history of glass making in St. Helens and how they blow glass to make beautiful pieces of art.

Today year to flew to Mexico! We went to the airport and watched a safety demonstration aboard our flight. Throughout the day, we ate Mexican food, learnt Mexican dances and finally chilled by the pool with an ice lolly. We all had lots of fun!
