Wild that Class 4A was the only Coach of the Year chosen that did not win a state title, but I'm guessing that's not an automatic part of the process. Either way, I'm rather biased, but I'd argue winning the state title as an eight-seed should probably garner a vote or two.

My (biased) frustration with postseason awards continue. Emma Eekhoff pitched 21 innings, struck out 16 batters, gave up 3 earned runs (1 ERA), was 4-for-10 at the plate with two home runs at the state tournament on the #8 seed. Unless Pella isn't "metro area," I guess.
