There are times in life when it feels like we are fighting a losing battle. We strive and strive, but it seems like we can't make any headway. In moments like these, it's important to remember that Jesus is with us. He knows what we're going through and He is willing to help us.

Set aside time at the end of every day for the two of you to just talk. When you do, be honest and open. Share information. Talk about your day, your worries, your goals for the future.

When was the last time you had your photo taken together– just the two of you? Hire a local photographer and get some updated pictures!

Don't criticize your husband or wife in front of other people– including your children.

Look for opportunities during the day to show gratitude for your spouse.

Do you remember when you and your spouse first met?

Share your expectations with your spouse about things like finances, parenting, upcoming plans, household duties, etc. This prevents future arguments and protects you both from disappointment.

The next time you intend to say something critical to your spouse, just don't. For once, delete it and let the incident pass without comment.

Do you make eye contact with your spouse during conversations? Not doing so can make you seem distracted and disengaged with what your spouse is saying.

Always take the time to praise your spouse when he or she puts effort into something. regardless of the situation.
