Hidden among the hills between Korishë and Kabash (Prizren), this ancient church dates back to the 5th–6th century. 🇦🇱 We already built beautiful churches before Serbs arrived the Balkans. What a feeling to walk where early Christians once gathered at this sacred place.

📍Lastovo Island (Croatia), anciently Ladesta/Ladeston, may be related to Alb. ledh ("earth wall") + suffix -sht(ë) (as in vreshtë). Modern Alb. has ledhishtë ("fenced land, ramparts") with Slavic suffix -ishtë, possibly reflecting Slavic reshaping of an older Albanian form.

The Saxon Church (St. Peter's Basilica) was a Catholic Church built by Saxons in the 13th century and used primarily by the Catholic Albanian population near Mitrovica. Miraculously, it is was not converted by Serbs. So, one of the oldest churches in Mitrovica is not Serbian.

A superb essay, first published at Revista Udhekryqi by its director and collaborator of our Institute, Albert Bikaj, on how relativist ideologies like postmodernism and radical gender theory undermine truth, family, and human dignity, risking authoritarianism. albanianconservativeinstitute.org/ne-emer-te-pro…

One of my favourite books that I own is about the tradition of poetry and romance in the medieval world. Typically it focused on idealised love, devotion to an unattainable lady, and chivalric ideals performed by knights and noblemen. Here some of the beautiful illustrations.

First, don't call Muslims Islamists. Second, the village is predominantly Catholic, so no one there claims to be Catholic — they are.

At one of the entrances to the only Catholic Church in Prizren, is a sign that highlights the church's long history. There's also an Illyrian cemetery underneath. Back then Catholics of the city fought many years for its reconstruction until the Sultan gave his approval.

Christendom, what secularists call Western Civilization, is the Mass and the paraphernalia which protect and facilitate it. All architecture, art, political and social forms, economics, the way people live and feel and think, music, literature – all these things when they are
