Rereading the Jain trilogy of Neal Asher and making the best out of the lock-down. And now waiting for the Night Shade Books edition of The Human. And definitely feeling like living in a science fictional world.

Paradise! Adrian Tchaikovsky’s new book @thedoorsofeden , Prosecco and a cigarette. A sentient orthocone might be able to put into words how good the book is, I can’t.

The Ministry for the Future by KSR.info arrived! It's cool to read that it will be headquartered 5 minutes' walk away from where I lived as a student and about 2 minutes away from where my son was born. I can't wait to start reading.

Reading the great Lockdown Tales by Neal Asher and watching Futurama in the cavernous back of our new car; the thing to do while the world around us burns.

Happy #YearoftheTiger! 🐯 To ring in the new year, Swiss 🇨🇭 light artist Gerry Hofstetter created the largest work of art in the world by projecting a 5.3 km long and over 2 km tall #tiger on the #Eiger North Face in Grindelwald. How amazing is that? 📸: Frank Schwarzbach

I just received "The Age of the Strongman" by Gideon Rachman. A great book and it should be required reading for any risk manager or for any thinking person.

Here is my collection of books by Neal Asher . I love each and every one of them. They promise a bright AI-led future, which seems so much more preferable to what we can expect with the current batch of politicians in all too many countries.

Here is my collection of all my Greg Egan books, with a complete set of first editions. In this times where imbeciles run the show in too many countries, nothing gives more hope than reading a Greg Egan novel about competent people or sentients solving complex problems.

The Hugo Nominees for 2018 thehugoawards.org/hugo-history/2… are all great. My personal favorite is @KSR 's "New York 2140", which is the only science fiction book that I know that shows that Swiss Re will still exist in 2140.
