This photo of a P-51 Mustang Fighter plane was taken before the allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944. The aircraft pictured was piloted by Captain Dayton Casto, a graduate from WVU’s Law School. He served with the 375th Squadron of the 361st Fighter Group, 8th Air Force.

Alumni Spotlight: 2018 History PhD Graduate Marc Sanko! While at WVU, he studied U.S. Ethnic & Immigration History with secondary fields in Diplomatic History, British Imperial History, and Public History. Marc is now an Assistant Professor of History at Clarion University of PA.
