Ting Ting Wu and Mark vd Boogaard -thx for ur help with this rigorous MV analysis. But the neuro effects of ketamine are complex and many time-dependent risk factors for ICU delirium exist. A large, prospective ICU ketamine analgosedation RCT is much needed to confirm our results.

😵‍💫#Delirium in #ICU something missing? Individual symptoms likely to remain unnoticed/unaddressed: how to routinely assess? Patients suffer from fear, paranoia, anxiety: delivery of safe/effective care challenging. 🖇️rdcu.be/cKayW 🖇️Refers to rdcu.be/cKayD

Thanks to NIDUS Delirium Network and #ADS2022Indy for the opportunity to present my research. Baseline anxiety+depression is an important risk factor for ICU delirium-lots of additional research to conduct. thx to John Devlin, PharmD, BCCCP, FCCP, MCCM Mark vd Boogaard Joe Bienvenu for their mentorship

Our analysis suggests ICU clinicians should consider whether anxiety +/- depression (or a history of either) is present when characterizing risk factors for delirium in their patients. Ting Ting Wu and I appreciate the collaboration with Mark vd Boogaard and Joe Bienvenu #bouve

Building upon the foundation laid by 〽️atthew Duprey and benefiting from the valuable mentorship of both John Devlin, PharmD, BCCCP, FCCP, MCCM and 〽️atthew Duprey , I shared our research findings on pain-delirium under NIDUS Delirium Network oral presentation section. Thank you American Delirium Society for a wonderful meeting!

For ICU pts with agitated delirium, should clonidine or antipsychotics be used? In this JCriticalCare paper Ting Ting Wu Louisa Smith + I found clonidine (vs APs) is associated with a 83% greater daily likelihood of delirium resolution. RCTs are needed! bit.ly/3uq4kAl

Does ICU pain increase the daily risk for transitioning to delirium? In a rigorous Markov analysis, Ting Ting Wu 〽️atthew Duprey, Irene Zaal, Celine Gelinas, Arjen Slooter and I suggest it may not (aOR 0.96; 95% CI, 0.76–1.21) WesElyMD Dale Needham, MD, PhD bit.ly/3uPd1Ez
