Finishing intern year has been super busy, but guess which internal medicine intern got to visit the OR recently? Very reminiscent of this animation from MS3 featuring my friend (we had a gown shortage for a few days during our surgery rotation).

No change. Their eyes lit up, they got up. "Wait!" I blurted. Inside my head: things were still bad, very bad, should I make it clearer? But... I had already warned them; their hope and their loved one were just persevering for one more night. "Get some rest." (Not exact details)

There have been a lot of ups and downs lately, but there have been many small victories to celebrate as well, especially as I've gotten to know patients better as a PCP😊 (not real patient appearances. P.S. handiwork really is that of e-consult teledermatology)

It was so fun to be part of skits, and to also make my 2nd children's book! For context, UCSF IM night crosscover/admitting roles = animal names... without context it is very confusing to hear us tell stories about bats, wombats, badgers, wolves, quails, birds! UCSF IM Chiefs

It's been a while since I've made any comics, but I finished my first inpatient rotation as a PGY2! Turns out when asked to make decisions, there's a fine balance between showing utter terror and showing appropriate humility/acknowledging limitations in my knowledge.

I used to post my comics only on facebook and today fb reminded me that I drew my favorite comic from medical school this time 3(!) years ago on my gyn onc rotation. (My comics were way more scribbly back then)

I am on a month of float, which is widely regarded as one of the worst months for both physical and mental well-being… hooray! One of the interns asked me to draw a sequel to “Fox’s first night” when they were on their last night, and so I scribbled this.

Last Friday night Yeah we slept on tabletops, ordered enoxaparin shots Thought through admits but I forgot, last Friday night Yeah, we roamed through all the wards and got lost in the ER So we hit the caffeine hard, last Friday night Do it allllll again (A doodle re: PGY2)

Been a while (and I guess Twitter's still up!) but very grateful to my wonderful team during my first month senioring on inpatient medicine... I learned a lot!!

I went to my PCP office lately and made a joke about how I was one of the worst patients ever... and was not corrected 🙃 will try to be better 2023!

As I’m reaching the end of R2 year (!) I am slowly catching up on team drawings (not in chronological order though oops). Here’s a recent one from MICU at Parnassus- great to rotate with team members of all specialties (anesth, crit care, ED) and to work with wonderful 9ICU RNs!
