Today we remember Detective Brent Hanger. He died on Aug. 6, 2015, at the age of 47. He suffered a heart attack while following up on a tip regarding a marijuana grow in Yakima County. At the time of his death, he had served almost 17 years with the WSP. #GoneButNeverForgotten

Our District 2 Target Zero Team (TZT) is up assisting District 7 during the Edmonds Block Party. Drive sober! These guys will be out all night looking for impaired drivers.

With extremely heavy hearts we are saddened to report the loss of a true Hero, our thought and prayers go out to the families.

*Eastbound I-90 Blocked* Eastbound I-90 near MP 110 near Ellensburg is blocked due to a motorcycle collision. No details at this time please avoid the area. Updates to follow.

This is from a 3 car NB 405 near NE 70th. The black car caused this collision which included an WA State Patrol sergeant. Possible broken bones in the white vehicle. No suspected impairment. The Sergeant will be sore but no major injuries.

WSP detectives asking for witnesses!

Troopers are on scene of a non-injury collision in a construction zone on EB SR 16 near the Narrows toll plaza. All EB lanes are blocked.

This semi drove through the guardrail this morning WB I-90, MP 68 on Easton Hill.  Driver was not injured. This collision was the result of a blown tire.

Today we remember Weight Control Officer Joseph Modlin. He died on August 15, 1974, at the age of 60. He was killed when he was struck by a logging truck at the Home Valley weigh station. At the time of his death, he had served six years with the WSP. #GoneButNeverForgotten

UPDATE 7:38am: The NB I-5 ramp to SR 509 is now closed so that contractor crews can clear mud after an earlier slide. No estimate how long this will take. Please seek alt. routes.

A Trooper just attempted to stop this bike SB I-5 near I-405 in Tukwila, and the rider fled. Smokey tracked the bike to a parking lot in Federal Way where the rider was taken into custody for Attempting to Elude.

With help from Smokey, WSP’s Aviation unit, troopers arrested a driver who fled from S405 in Tukwila. The suspect nearly hit 2 patrol cars in the course of his eluding. He was finally stopped on SR 410 between Buckley & Enumclaw and arrested for Eluding with more charges expected

#RoadClosure The White River Bridge is closed on SR410 MP 22 due to a semi striking the structure. No injuries and no ETA for opening the bridge.
