The last unfinished space at the new Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner was purpose built to house a PET scanner. It was announced on Friday that the province is ready to fill that space.

NDP Leader Jim Dinn said: "The devil will be in the details. How will this serve the people of this province? How will this address the issues of the Indigenous people of Labrador? You look at the wetland capping, you look at the flooding of the territory belonging to the Innu."

"Everybody will be clapping each other on the back," Dinn told me, "But I think, if anything, we've learned it pays to be critical, pays be skeptical, pays to ask the questions and get the answers, and maybe more importantly to have a debate" to ensure a good deal for N.L.

The City of Corner Brook has named its new recreation centre the Marina Redmond Centre. The facility will open on May 24.

Campaign supporters for Liberal Don Bradshaw have started to gather at the Glynmill Inn in Corner Brook.

Early results have Conservative Carol Anstey leading with 1,858 votes. Liberal Don Bradshaw in second with 1,138 votes.
