It is the fourth new species belonging to the genus Darwinopterus (along with D. modularis, D. linglongtaensis, and D. robustodens). The name pays tribute to the Brazilian geopaleontologist Diogenes A. Campos.

Did you know blastoids, the "sea buds," flourished in the Mississippian, had Ordovician roots, but vanished 250 million years ago? This one is from the Permian of Timor! 💫 #fossils #paleontology #geologyrocks #fossilfriday

A whale-watching company has abandoned tours off Ireland’s coast & declared the waters an ‘empty, lifeless sea’. Cork Whale Watch is closing as overfishing of sprat has disrupted the marine food chain & diverted humpback, minke, fin whales & dolphins. #WhyIsThisAllowedToHappen?

We are staring down a mass extintion event for American science. If the 2026 budget is enacted, research funding will be slashed in half. Biology by ca 75%. The same percentage of species that died at the end-Cretaceous. It's not law yet. So SPEAK UP NOW.

Imagine being the only developed country on the planet without basic welfare, something that defined a modern state, and somehow manage to erase the only scraps resembling it. It's austerity for services that barely exist. What a cruel, weird place.
