Amazing lunchtime of music from Wren Enfield, Aldgate and City of London Academy schools. Here’s the appreciative audience. Well done Mr Ness and all the Wren students performing. And thank you St Mary-le-Bow….

Getting ready to set off on our Chaplain’s weekend away! V exciting. Lots in store for the weekend but on the agenda is fun, friendship, and exploring faith together…We will keep you up to date with arrival and also share some moments throughout the weekend!

We have arrived safely. Offloading our bags and nearly ready for dinner!

We are deep in the woods! All our students have been brilliant on the coach and we are about to eat. High spirits and good cheer here…..

Dinner is served….. We have given thanks for a safe passage here and for the weekend ahead - and for Stevie who has prepared our meal for us…..

We are exploring the woods and making new friends. Apparently there are deer in the forest. They may hear us coming though… !

A giant game of IT…. Running off some energy before our evening reflection.

So Mrs Bolster, the Wren Finchley chaplain, closed our evening in a reflective prayer. Then games and hot chocolate before lights out. The low hum of chat and laughter….. Sleep well all….

Rested, breakfasted and awaiting the unfolding of the day ahead. In our reflection time this morning we will be asking ‘Why?’. Why have faith in God? We will be taking some themes from Martin Saunders book - We are Satellites! Get ready for orbit!

We have had some WOW moments listening and looking at God’s good creation all around us. We have reflected on how scripture points to an encounter with a personal God. We have asked ourselves what/who Zacchaeus might have been seeking..Now football, painting stones and lunch….

And football….. ( only for 20 minutes with regular shade/water breaks. We couldn’t hold them off any longer… 😂.

‘So that the blind will see’…. A team building exercise in trust. One blind-folded, one leading and guiding. I like our instructor’s t-shirt message….Who do you trust? (Proverbs 3 v5).

The evening ended as all good activity weekends should with a campfire and toasted marshmallows. Mrs Bolster’s group won the group self portrait competition [serious theological message = the fact of unconditional divine love + incentive of a bag of Haribos as a prize] 😇.

We have had our Sunday prayers this morning. We have blessed our painted stones and blessing cards. We are going to have a ‘big questions’ session and then after lunch it will be homeward bound. Such a blessed weekend. So thankful to staff and students….

And we’re off! Just set off from Carroty Wood. Sat nav currently saying we’ll arrive back at the school sites at the return time communicated but parents/carers we’ll let you know here if there are any major delays….

We are now on our way home and are thankful for a lovely weekend of fun, laughter, thoughtful ideas, creativity and more. Thank you Chaplain for sharing the weekend with us.

Parents/carers, the Chaplain’s trip is due to arrive back at Wren Enfield around 3.00pm.

Wonderful to be part of the Wren 300 thanksgiving service today. The music, worship and prayers were truly inspiring. Our students learnt quite a bit more about the life of work of our school’s namesake Sir Christopher Wren.
