Do you ever have someone introduce a new genre of music to you and have the sudden desire to flush two years of writing down the drain and start over?

Anyone else in the #writingcommunity feel like they live with a pendulum of motivation that wrenches back and forth between two genres at the most inconvenient times? I need to be writing fantasy, but the sci-fi devil on my shoulder is very convincing...

I might be in the minority here, but part of me loves moving body parts. I know it's against conventional wisdom, but there's something about writing "he threw a dismissive hand over his shoulder" that makes me smile. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
