Congratulations to our staff who were recognized at the KACTE Conference earlier this week. Laura Barker received the “Guidance Counselor of the Year Award”, Cathy Mong received the “Lifetime Achievement Award” & Aubrey Weigel received the “Young Teacher of the Year Award”.

Next Tuesday, Sept. 20, we will host the Pathways to Success event at the district’s administrative offices from 5-7 p.m. The event will showcase the many CTE pathways, college credit courses, advanced programs and career-ready opportunities that our district has to offer.

This year, the City of Wichita announced an ARPA Workforce Development Grant, allowing Wichita Public Schools students to earn healthcare industry credentials from WSU Tech while still in High School. Today we kicked off the program alongside the students who will benefit from it.

At the FutureReady Healthcare Center, the Patient Care Technician program are practicing phlebotomy by performing real blood draws! These high school students are receiving a free education and being trained to become highly skilled healthcare professionals! Wichita Public Schools
