I really hate that I give a whole lot of feedback on early iterations of projects and I give a whole lot of disappointed sighs on final projects that look a lot like earlier iterations.

I'm just not over the fact that my daily routine involves waking up and crying because there's a genocide going on and I can't do anything about it--and then avoiding all foreign news so I can figure out what we can do here to stop what's going on. Every day's a failure.

As someone who’s taught both Ivy and CC, I’ll say CC students can be some of the most brilliant. Many are just realizing that they’re not stupid and that they own their learning. That clarity is rare in 4-year colleges, especially ones with highly educationally prepared students.

Something I am leaning from reading books of abstract for international conferences I didn't go to because I'm afraid to leave the country: a lot of my US colleagues have tapped out, and more than a few have quietly landed safer jobs in Europe. The brain drain is real.
