Raving, Ranting and Railing about Employment Risk since 1999. Or 2011. Whatever.

My views are my own. But they should be yours as well!

Pretty poor experience so far at the Omni Hotels & Resorts Amelia Island Plantation. Waited over 4 hours for a room while others arriving much later got theirs. No text ever arrived - had to inquire at desk. Now we sit with no luggage. Supposedly will be here before our dinner tonight.

The surprise hit at #WCI2023 - Meet the Florida Judges reception. The picture is the overflow. You can’t get into the room!

Wow. Renting from Thrifty Car Rental in ABQ. 45 minute wait in line. 45 minute wait for a gas powered vehicle - and they are charging me for an upgrade for not taking EV. Was supposed to get Ford Focus or equivalent. Focus is not an EV. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.

In case you missed it, Ben Kamens, a Congressional aide who prefers not to pay back the money he borrowed, is happy that the rest of us now will. Student “debt relief” is a sham, and is really why elections matter.

Never, EVER use Asurion uBreakiFix by Asurion. Dominic at N. Sarasota location is downright rude. Long story - suffice it to say it takes three 45-minute trips to get a simple battery change. Dominic tells me, "That is what drive time is like." Absolutely 0 concern for cust inconvenience.

I think we can all agree on a few things: We have $36 trillion of national debt growing at a rapid rate, that must be refinanced and issued at a materially higher interest rate as our bonds come due and as new funds are needed. We had a $1.8 trillion deficit in fiscal 2024.

Absolutely terrific keynote at WCRI annual conference. Lanhee Chen has tremendous insight into the current state of Medicaid and Medicare, as well as the challenges we face in the future.
