Daily Mail Online "The case was first reported on by feminist writer Julie Bindel in The Critic this week. 'In the space of a few years the term "motherless" has moved from an emotive description of absence to a positive identity argued for in court', she wrote."
The phrase “through gritted teeth” could have been invented for this coverage in The Times and The Sunday Times Surrogate mothers should always have access and rights to their children. They should always stay on the birth certificate; anything else is rank misogyny. thetimes.com/uk/law/article…
🌼 Amie 🏰 🤔 Scottish Women on Surrogacy This is a direct reply. I am an ex surrogate mother. I did not get paid and I did not use my egg. I did it to help a family member with the understanding of contact. Yet like so many surrogates as soon as we performed our 'job', we were then lied to, manipulated and exploited.
Georgia- a primary destination for surrogacy since the war in Ukraine. Demand is high, women also ‘outsourced’ from Central Asia. Women in poverty paid c£15,000 and one agency says ‘most come back for 4 to 6 births, some as many as 10’. This is obscene. international.la-croix.com/ethics/surroga…
Tracey was StopSurrogacyNowUK I am not a child trafficker. The mother of that child exploited my trust in order that I have a child for her. Be careful with what you say.
SurrogacyConcern StopSurrogacyNowUK GTF Glasgow Tactical Feminists UniversalSurrogacyAbolition This new meta-analysis combines the new, very large scale Ivanova 2024 study on surrogacy outcomes for the mother with three other quantitive studies. We see a much higher risk of complications with surrogacy deliveries.
SurrogacyConcern StopSurrogacyNowUK GTF Glasgow Tactical Feminists UniversalSurrogacyAbolition One of the studies shows 2 1/2 times the risk. Across all studies we see 3 1/2 times the risk. Glad to cover this, everyone needs to be deeply alarmed at the incredibly rapid growth of this terribly exploitative industry. Thank you for all the awareness you bring to it!
Lack of information (where is the informed consent?) and lack of long term research into potential risks and outcomes? This is familiar… Along with SurrogacyConcern we look forward to reading Eggonomics.
