Some boards, like the HWDSB, decided to spend money on a Taj Mahal central office that is fully air conditioned while schools remain unbearable. The logic here is: if Superintendents and the Director are hot, no student can learn. 🤡

Land Acknowledgements in school boards have become a liturgic religious ritual. Sometimes it's overseen by the Priest [Principals] but, quite often, P's anoint staff members to share an acknowledgement. These self-indulgent confessions do nothing but entrench a fake religion.

The HWDSB informs Catherine Kronas that no one is forced to "read" or "participate" in the Land Acknowledgement. How, exactly, does someone respectfully not participate if LAs are performatively read before every meeting and school day? LAs are compelled speech with no off ramp.

No one has been held accountable for the death of TDSB Principal Richard Bilkszto. He was tremendously concerned about a campaign by TDSB staff to discredit him in a major newspaper article before his death. The plan was to ruin his legacy to protect and save their careers

At this point, HWETL and osstf-Hamilton [no X handle] should be asking the HWDSB how teachers can opt out of Land Acknowledgements. However, modern union leaders are more likely to initiate a kangaroo court proceeding against teachers who object to Land Acknowledgements.🤡
