I was honored to facilitate a workshop on “Thriving in the Digital World: Mastering Tech, Social Media, and AI for Growth” at the just-ended AFS Intercultural Programs School Clubs Camp, at the University of Ghana. 1/

The theme was “Developing Active Global Citizens,” and my session aimed to equip participants with essential digital skills and awareness. Helping young people use technology, social media, and AI responsibly, ethically, and effectively in their education, careers, and /2

community life is an urgent call. One of my favorite parts? Digital campaign(s) designed by these amazing teenagers! Bridging the gap between theory and practice is key to knowledge extension. In groups, they learned how to use technology for good. 3/

Most importantly, they shared why it was important and even hashtags they would use. My session was filled with fun facts, data, icebreakers, and lively activities. Through these, we explored: 4/

- Digital literacy - The concept that technology is as smart, ethical, and creative as the humans behind it. - Social media for good - AI tools and awareness - Ethics and security; for ourselves, our communities, and our planet - Digital self-reflection; 5/
