Joy is being at the world’s best teacher conference #wissit23

I used to think that my “home” traveled to where my people are…. But now I think I pick people up along my journey to hold with me as we face waves of both lows and highs. Sometimes people are even let go ! 🌊#wissit23 #wissit10 WISSIT ☮️

Day 1 of #wissit23 was MARVELOUS! @RonRitchhart plenary talk about mindsets was the perfect kick off for the week. Learning Group M took a risk & built their first accordion journals. Our group is mighty! We are made up of teachers who are veterans & newbies. WISSIT ☮️

I closed out my first day at #WISSIT23 with Colleen Eddy (she/her) & Elizabeth C. Dean leading us through voice, belonging and agency. The dialogical interview help me reflect on myself as a teacher and what I want my story of learning to be for students at BES. This conference is such a gift!

Another great Interactive Course at #wissit23! Thinking about how AI tools can leverage playfulness and choice to build agency in learning. This can’t go without highlighting the importance of examining AI for bias. JxD Qs can help AI users search for missing perspectives.

Is it WISSIT if you don’t reflect using tinfoil? Learning Group M shared their takeaways & wonderings so far, considered where they may focus their driving question for their exhibition, and shared how they were feeling so far by making tinfoil sculptures. What a day! #wissit23

such a beautiful day for an in-person interactive course filled with uncovering stories and building memory of african-american history often erased . . participants really delved deeply into hard history and collective made a more just & humane society . . #wissit23

focusing on the trail of tears, seneca village, & fazendeville, new orleans, participants curated models that would tell the stories of those erased communities in order to cultivate memory . . #wissit23
