Milo update. The milo took a splash of hail during wheat harvest. It has not experienced the explosive growth I was anticipating, but we’re right at the boot/heading stage. I’m no milo expert, but I think the growth will come. Let’s see where this goes.

Adding to Jason Mauck post from earlier. Here is volunteer wheat into relay milo. One of the main reasons we are trying milo in the relay is specifically for cattle. Great start to our 3rd crop here. The milo has a way to go though.

The relay milo is really reacting to the additional sunlight and space post wheat harvest. Johnny D Do we have enough time? Quite a yield bump from here if they can make.

It’s been a long winter project but here we go! Excellent help and setup from P.T., Godsey Precision Ag , @injunluke with all the setup and daydreaming. 10” wheat, 20” beans, and 30” corn using custom slides.

Got a few kinks worked out of the planter and we’re rolling! Planting WB9303 and intercropped soybeans in a month or so with the same planter. P.T. With the tech support

Spring wheat vs winter wheat comparison a few miles apart. Don’t count out the spring wheat as it’s a racehorse. I’m curious which will lead to better beans. We will likely start beans in 2 weeks or so.

Going old school with a row freshener. A hose came off the air seeder last fall for a couple passes. This will clean it up for planting soon!

Function of our 12 row soybean relay planter. The middle row is just along for the ride and is somewhat lifted for this operation.

Crime scene mixture courtesy of Johnny D. The iron and furrow fuel sure make the beans pop, but I may need an alibi if the neighbors drive by.
