genre-agnosticism, melding a traditional rock sensibility with inspired moments of art-noise and broken up by all-too-brief forays into intimate indiepop vulnerability, which return with breakneck speed into the bombast of rock. (2/3)

Chicago's very own 𝑺𝑻𝑨𝑹 𝑻𝑹𝑶𝑷𝑰𝑪𝑺 are a real pleasure for any indiepop fan, as there is no band I can think of that was formed after the demise of the beloved Sarah Records that belong more on that label than StarTropics, both sonic and spiritually. (1/2)

Finally, we're lucky to have the quintessential Chicago indiepop band, Panda Riot as our headliner! They originally hail from Philly, but they've been synonymous with Chicago indiepop for so long that I can't imagine anyone taking umbrage to our insistence they’re ours! (1/4)

It's no surprise there's a decidedly "cinematic" quality to their music as singer Rebecca Scott & drummer Brian Cook began their artistic collab by working together on film projects & soundtrack coalesced into song and a band followed when the two-piece became a four-piece (2/4)

They craft intricately-textured sonic landscapes that are enough to take you on a fast Ride or a Slowdive to gazing longingly at yr Cons like Kevin Shields does! Alternating between effects-driven soundwalls & light-hearted beachy guitar lines that belie a tender melancholy(3/4)
