Hello. I am safe but I don’t have any cell service to post photos. Almost every road in Metairie is impassible. 1-2 feet of floodwaters. Power everywhere is out. I got to point where going further would be unsafe, so am currently in my vehicle in only parking lot not flooded.

#Bebinca (#14W) had a rather poorly forecast interaction with an upper-level low to its northwest. The low has been imparting strong 25-30 kt shear and funneling cool, dry air into the system, and it has a less than tropical appearance. It should restrengthen soon though.

The remnants of #typhoon #Yagi have regenerated into a tropical depression and made landfall in #Bangladesh. Although this should be Yagi's demise, it will likely bring flooding to parts of Bangladesh and India during the next few days. Yagi has already killed over 760 people.

It might be a lovely day in #RVA today but our next big weather concern is taking shape off the Carolina coast. A disturbance is forming along the remains of a front, and this could become a (sub)tropical storm on Monday and bring heavy rain and wind to SC/NC/VA on Tuesday.

It now appears unlikely that PTC 8 (#08L) will become a sub/tropical storm before landfall. The system is still embedded in a frontal boundary and its circulation is poorly defined. It will still bring very heavy rain to NC/SC/VA later today and tomorrow, though. #RVA #vawx #ncwx

A tropical depression, partially associated with the remnants of #Typhoon #Yagi, continues to be quite well organized despite being well inland over West Bengal and Jharkhand in #India. This system will be a severe flooding threat over the region for another few days.

The broad and elongated center of Potential Tropical Cyclone Eight (#08L) is now making landfall in South Carolina. This should end its chances of becoming a subtropical or tropical storm, but heavy rainfall and strong winds will spread inland over SC and NC this afternoon.

#Pulasan (#15W) is strange. It has winds of 65 kts based on SAR and scatterometer data, but it's not a #typhoon - it is instead a really, really strong monsoon depression being warned on as a typhoon since it's threatening #Okinawa. Really weird.
