🇨🇦 MBOKO MAGIC IN MONTREAL Canada’s Victoria Mboko defeats Naomi Osaka 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 to win the National Bank Open in Montreal. The 18-year-old was fearless. Didn’t quit. And rode the wave of a raucous hometown crowd to a memorable title victory. Outstanding.

I stay on this app because people with fancy Canadian political establishment bios can totally crash out and embarrass themselves over millennial women existing.

Some news! I'm taking a break from the freelance life to join The Narwhal as an assistant editor. So thrilled to work with such wonderful colleagues and to wrangle words in service of The Narwhal's stellar journalism

.Mayor Ken Sim is back on his Bitcoin crusade this weekend, speaking at the Learning Bitcoin conference. The mayor has called Bitcoin a "hill he'll die on." The hill Lucy Maloney will die on is a safer, more affordable, more livable city for every one of our neighbours.

.Mayor Ken Sim's office is now claiming that his appearance at a Bitcoin conference this weekend is part of a 'personal vacation'. He is appearing as the Mayor. Talking about "Bitcoin and the City of Vancouver". Which was a motion he passed at Council. Very vacation-like!

It's honestly been wild to see how near-unanimously pro-flight attendant the sentiment has been since the Air Canada work stoppage began yesterday. Maybe the issue is my algorithm but that has absolutely not been the case during previous labour disputes.

The main thing to know about Gavin Newsom is that he has a visceral hatred for republicans. He’ll fly to Georgia and humiliate DeSantis in a televised debate for the love of the game. That hatred is kind of perfect for the current mood of national dems who want to see a fight.

Air Canada stock was down 3% today after briefly trading close to Friday’s close near noon on the market’s mistaken assumption that things would end soon. Today’s action by Air Canada to re-engage is a signal they know this isn’t going as planned when they asked for 107 relief.
