So much of the focus at Moorepark was on making the farm a more attractive place to work for young people, reducing working hours and what can be automated on a parlour to save time but unfortunately milking robots still not even discussed as an option - hard to understand 🤷

On a more positive side for robots, great to be up at the launch of the Lely A5 Next - new operating system and a new camera and laser combo to improve attachment even more. New milk separation system and a new automatic milk filter system - no need for filter socks anymore.

As well finished robot rooms as I've seen, 5ft high walls with ceilings. Stainless steel on the walls ensure they are easy to keep clean. White PVC ceilings really help to brighten up the room too.

Open day next week - we will be looking at the figures for a new entrant getting into milk from sheep and sucklers. We will go through what Robbie spent to convert to dairy and how the business has performed in the first 18 months. Details on the new slurry storage grant also!

Unique yard layout with the underpass leading directly out of the yard - robot and cubicles one side and ABC grazing block on the other. Each section of the underpass is 1.5m wide. Single robot farm going 5 years now milking close to 80 cows.
