I was in Keighley for some meetings today. First visit since my (short) time at Leeds Uni. Lee in our branch at Sainsbury’s assured me that things are looking up. I’ll take it from the experts- long may it continue!

I was just given my coffee for free on an Avanti West Coast train. I’m hoping the machine is actually faulty and they haven’t stolen Pret’s trick of giving miserable looking customers a free coffee to cheer them up!

A great week. We celebrated Lee’s birthday and our first - post lockdown board meeting. Then, on some shop visits I met Thomas in Stafford Asda who was actually up (0.1%) against 2019 on shoe repairs!

James Timpson and Will Lankston have even found that, even when it comes to their own staff, getting ‘thin file’ applicants enrolled in many digital processes can be a real challenge. Often walking people through these processes is all it takes — an easy fix!
