Awesome to see lots of Rakali in Moon Moon Swamp, east of Booligal in the Lachlan, NSW! Rakali do an amazing job of preying on invasive species like carp, and #WaterForTheEnvironment is delivered to many wetlands across the Basin to support their habitat. @UC_CAWS

A chance discovery of one of the Murray-Darling Basin’s endangered fish - the Olive perchlet - has been made in the lower Lachlan. 🐟 In mid-2023, fish ecologist Dr Adam Kerezsy stumbled upon a healthy population of perchlet. ow.ly/eOsZ50PzbYc

Until recently, only a single population of Olive perchlet was known from the Lachlan River. 🐟 Thanks to the @FlowMERProgram, read more about an exciting discovery for this threatened species! ⬇️ bit.ly/3FUmo8q @UC_CAWS

Another great Down the Track Environmental Ed. Weekend at Lake Cargelligo learning how and why we monitor fish, waterbugs and vegetation as part of the The Flow-MER Program @UC_CAWS.

Researchers at @UC_CAWS are using aerial drones to monitor the native shrub lignum in the Murray-Darling Basin. After feeding drone-captured images into a machine learning model, they can assess lignum’s response to environmental water management. bit.ly/4bcRkhX #UniCBR

Plants – the silent heroes! Our science program, The Flow-MER Program, found: - Without #WaterForTheEnvironment we would stop seeing up to 40 species of plants in parts of the Basin - 748 CEWH watering actions that have targeted plants since 2014-15. flow-mer.org.au/flow-mer-frida…
