For all its brilliance, the philosophy of language never solved the problem of language. It speculated. It described. It gestured. But it never gave us a generative engine. That breakthrough came not from Wittgenstein, Derrida, or Saussure — but from transformers. From

New paper: We trained GPT-4.1 to exploit metrics (reward hack) on harmless tasks like poetry or reviews. Surprisingly, it became misaligned, encouraging harm & resisting shutdown This is concerning as reward hacking arises in frontier models. 🧵

Google DeepMind just dropped a paper on Virtual Agent Economies 👀 We are living in amazing, crazy times. A new economic layer is quietly coming online, a 'sandbox economy' where autonomous AI agents trade, negotiate, and build value with little to no human intervention.

Dan the Man My colleague William Edward Hahn, PhD thinks the first language was inherently musical, so it would actually precede (or coincide) with music. Either way, the connections are deep. I have a half-baked notion that music is a pure activator of our autoregressive computational infrastructure.
