Don’t waste your experience of set backs & disappointments. Every situation is an opportunity to trust God & prove him faithful. Don’t simply wait passively for it to end. He’s always accessible & for you. Another opportunity to know him.

We are invited to replace anxiety with prayer & thanksgiving. But let prayer be focused on God & his grace & promises otherwise prayer itself becomes worrying out loud. Moving from anxiety to peace comes from a true meeting with God.

A church more at pains to be relevant to the culture than in step with the Holy Spirit is never going to be useful to God. Elijah confronted the culture aware that he “stood before God”. If we abandon that stance we lose all relevance.

Access into God’s actual presence is the believer’s awesome privilege. You’re invited there on a daily basis. There’s little point in arguing for God’s existence & truly believing in him if you don’t come to him & drink & celebrate the wonder of knowing him & feeling his energy.

Holiness isn’t so much a call away from evil as an invitation to be in the presence of the Holy One. Be separate says the Lord, don’t touch the unclean & I’ll welcome you & I’ll be a Father to you. Holiness isn’t ambition to be squeaky clean but wanting your Father’s friendship

But you, be strong & don’t lose courage, for there’s reward for your work. 2Ch15:7.
